About Night Of Code: A Data Engineering, Data Science & Analytics Build Marathon @LuxDevHQ
Night of Code 2025 is an overnight, hands-on build marathon for Data Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics finalists. From Friday 12th December 2025, 5:00 PM to Saturday 13th December 2025, 11:00 AM, participants will work on real-world data challenges under themes such as Urban Data Solutions, Health & Wellness Analytics, Sustainable Future, Business Intelligence & Insights, AI for Social Good, and Quick-Build Data Apps.
The event will start with a 2-hour workshop to align everyone on tools, expectations, and best practices, followed by 90 minutes of research and problem exploration. After that, participants will be subdivided into small groups to design and build solutions such as ETL pipelines, ML models, dashboards, and lightweight data applications.
By the end of the night, each team will record a short Loom video demonstrating their working solution and explaining their approach, then submit the Loom link for judging and feedback.
Special instructions:
- Please bring your laptop, charger, and any preferred development tools or datasets.
- Be prepared to stay overnight (light snacks and refreshments will be provided).
- Basic familiarity with Python/SQL and data tools is recommended.
