About Cinema In Nature
🇰🇪 Madaraka is more than just a long weekend — it's the story of a people claiming the right to shape their own future. A message we need now more than ever.
This Madaraka weekend, we invite you to step into the MADARAKA YETU FESTIVAL— a celebration of history, art, music, storytelling, and collective memory in the heart of Karura Forest. Inspired by Kenya’s journey toward self-rule, the festival reimagines independence not as distant history, but as something living, joyful, creative, and deeply ours.
🎧 Walk through the Mau Mau caves and waterfalls with our immersive Cinema in Nature audio-film experience. Each episode is independent of the other so you can listen to whichever one you’d like.
🎨 Step into the Freedom Village for mural painting, poetry, music, games, conversations, communal art, good food and great vibes!
📚 Explore the Ukombozi Library chill spot - A space to interact with literature documenting Kenya's revolutions across the decades.
🎶 Silent disco deejay sets, spoken word poetry, storytelling sessions, live performances, photography, art & fashion markets, and so much more.
Let us walk these trails together and reconnect with Kenya’s liberation story in a completely different way.
